In-Home Foot Care Services

At our practice, we prioritize a holistic approach to foot care, recognizing that each client has unique needs that deserve personalized attention. While the specifics of care may vary, the fundamental importance of regular and proper foot maintenance remains constant for all. Your well-being is our mission, and we are committed to helping you every step of the way.

Our skilled nurses specialize in providing safe nail trimming, filing, and reduction when necessary. We can also effectively reduce and treat corns and calluses, ensuring your comfort. We use only sterile or single-use tools and offer guidance throughout the process. In addition to basic foot care, we conduct comprehensive assessments of your lower limbs. During these assessments, we look for signs of neuropathy, circulation issues, ill-fitting footwear, and potential risks for infection and trauma. Our goal is to help keep your feet healthy so you can maintain an active and fulfilling lifestyle.

At the forefront of our healthcare philosophy is the commitment to safe diabetic foot care, given the significant health risks faced by individuals with diabetes. With conditions such as neuropathy often hindering their ability to sense injuries, diabetics are at an increased risk for unnoticed wounds that can quickly lead to complications, including infections. Regular foot checks and vigilant monitoring are crucial in preventing such issues. Our team is dedicated to empowering patients with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective foot care at home. By teaching proper techniques and encouraging proactive self-examinations, we strive to enhance the quality of life for those managing diabetes and ensure their feet remain healthy and free from injury. These services are offered in the comfort of your own home, but we also provide affordable services at community clinics for seniors

Ingrown Nail Treatment

Ingrown toe nails, also known as onychocryptosis, occur when the sides or corner of the nail penetrate into the skin causing pain, redness and swelling. Our foot care nurses are specially trained to perform non-invasive procedures aimed at reducing the pressure along the inner edge of the toenail. Using professional, sterile equipment, we can help relieve discomfort and prevent further injury to the sensitive skin. We will provide basic wound care and supply you with a care kit and teaching to help you heal at home.

Please be aware that local anesthetic is not included with these treatments. Our foot care nurses are skilled in assessing ingrown nails and determining if a condition requires care beyond their scope of practice. Your nurse will evaluate for signs of infection and advise if additional medical attention is necessary.

We also offer Onyfix, a safe and effective nail correction system designed to act as a brace for involuted nails. This innovative treatment can help restore the natural shape of your toenail, providing further comfort and support. Your nurse can tailor a treatment plan that best suits your individual needs. Fungal Nail Treatment

Onychomycosis, more commonly known as fungal nail, is a condition that can significantly impact the appearance and health of toenails. Characterized by thickened, discolored, and brittle nails,  fungal infection can lead to discomfort and self-consciousness for those affected. While onychomycosis is a treatable condition, accurate diagnosis is paramount before embarking on any treatment regimen. Consulting your doctor for mycologic testing—such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR), nail culture, or biopsy analysis—ensures that the right course of action is taken, paving the way for effective management and restoration of nail health.

We offer an innovative treatment called ToeFx, which combines a photosensitizer, a targeted light source, and oxygen to effectively combat nail fungus. There is no use of lasers with this product. The ToeFX ClearToe therapy light is a Class II medical device authorized by Health Canada. We provide convenient treatments in the privacy and comfort of your home.

Compression therapy is an effective treatment option for addressing circulatory issues in the lower extremities. By applying graduated pressure to the legs, compression garments can help improve blood flow, reduce swelling, and alleviate feelings of heaviness or fatigue. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with conditions like chronic venous insufficiency, edema, or varicose veins. It’s crucial to consult your doctor before starting any compression therapy to identify the appropriate level of compression and to rule out any underlying conditions you may have. It is also important to purchase compression socks that have been accurately fitted for you.

We offer a convenient in-home consultation service where we will take precise measurements to ensure a perfect fit. We will guide you through our selection of SIGVARIS compression therapy products, offering customized solutions tailored to your specific needs. With a wide array of styles and colors, you’re bound to find options that match your personal taste.
